Cupping therapy is a treatment in which a cup sucked to the skin to create local stimulation for disease treatment and prevention.  Cupping has the following effects on the body:

  • Dispel damp and cold syndromes
  • Dredging the meridians
  • Eliminate stasis and invigorate qi and blood circulation
  • Alleviating pain and swelling
  • Expel toxins and heat from the body
  • To adjust the body’s Yin and Yang balance
  • Relieve fatigue

Cupping therapy is believed to be a very good way to open meridians through which energy flows to every part of the body.  When meridians are opened, invigorating energy can travel fluently in the body.  As a result, Yin and Yang can keep balance.  Our physicians will apply the most suitable cupping method to help patient achieve better health.

The color of bruises on the skin after cupping signifies the patient’s health.  It tell the nature and location of the illness.

  • Water vapor on the inside glass wall of bruise, indicates dampness in the body.
  • Bruise marks that appear red or dark red indicates chronic dampness and blood stasis.
  • Bruise marks that appear dark purple or black indicates the presence of blood stasis (blood clots).
  • Bruise marks that appear red usually indicates pathogenic heat
  • Bruise marks that appear somewhat pale / white and did not warm to the touch indicates a deficiency of cold syndromes
